Total Pages Read: 1,444
Total Books Read: 5
Total Hours Reading: 17

Total Naps Taken: NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Which hour was most daunting for you? 6am - 8am
  2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? The whole Hex Hall series because they are so suspenseful that you couldn't possibly fall asleep and you read faster to find out what happens!
  3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No improvements. :)
  4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? There were several easy and fun challenges. It's nice when the challenges only take 5 minutes and not a lot of brain power.
  5. How many books did you read? 5
  6. What were the names of the books you read? Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
    Demon Glass by Rachel Hawkins
    Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins
Far From You by Lisa Schroeder
A Bride for Pastor Dan (Nook Book)
  7. Which book did you enjoy most? Hex Hall
  8. Which did you enjoy least? A Bride for Pastor Dan. I didn't dislike the book, I just liked it the least.
  9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?  There were NO cheerleaders this year on my blog. The cheering has gotten increasingly worse year after year and this time it was nonexistent.
  10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Absolutely! I will be a reader unless I have to work and then I will be a cheerleader

Just finished Demon Glass and can anyone say CLIFF HANGER! I feel sorry for anyone who read this series as they were being written! The only reason I can even type right now is because I know that the third book is only a few feet from me.

We finally broke out the iced coffee and after caffeine mixed with adrenalin, I am WIDE AWAKE and ready to read more demon/witch warfare books! (what would my Bible school teacher think of that!)

Woah almost at the half way mark! I do not feel like I have been reading for eleven hours straight! I feel like I have been reading for two maybe three hours, but definitely not a whole day! My back is starting to hurt :(

Challenges Entered: Your Favorite Trouble Maker The Fake Steph Dot Com.

This was my conversation with my mom as I read the challenge for hour 11...
me: "I hate these challenges where you have to pick your favorite character! I mean out of the ten thousand books I have read in my life time how could I possibly pick one!? I don't even remember most of the characters I've read about!"
mom: "right!"
me: "... although, one does come to mind now that I think about it..."
mom: *rolls eyes* and then mocks me for the next minute or so.

So anyway... my favorite hero has to be from the series that I read in highschool, Fearless by Francine Pascal. The main character's name was Gaia who was literally born without the fear gene and therefore kicked some serious bad guy butt.

1 Hour Down!

One hour down! I started with the first book in the Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins. (I'm really into the paranormal)

Currently Reading: Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
How many pages: 54
Snacks consumed: scrambled eggs for breakfast before the RAT started and coffee that lingered into the first hour.
Total Pages: 54
Completed Books: 0
Challenges Entered: 0

This book is so funny! I have a hard time believing that Rachel Hawkins has never written anything before! The character's sarcasm and whit is so like mine and I spent most of the first hour laughing out loud, I'm sure distracting my mom who is doing the RAT with me! Here's her blog, be sure to check her out too! Wall-To-Wall Books.

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? New York (not the city)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? All of them! I really can't decide. I have an awesome pile this year, and I'm even planning on swiping some from my mom's pile!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Sushi for sure!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm 23, I work as an activity coordinator at an assisted living home for elderly with dementia, and also as a barista at the Barnes & Noble cafe. I'm addicted to coffee and jewelry. My mom is my best friend. I have two fish that I always forget to feed but somehow manage to stay alive. Hmm... what else? Oh yeah, I'm a Christian/Hippie (figure that one out!)
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I don't think I'll do anything differently besides maybe not napping in the middle of the night. I always tell myself that I'll stay awake all night but then I give in to the temptation to close my eyes for a few minutes which dangerously turns into an hour! I am most looking forward to finishing more books this time than I did last time, meeting new blogger friends, and SUSHI! Plus spending time with my mom, but I do that all the time anyway :)

RAT

The RAT is here! Here's my stack of books! See you all in an hour!!!
